Tasogare Coffee in Minamihorie, Nishi-ku, Osaka

Of all the reviews of coffee places in Osaka we’ll ever write, this will will undoubtably be special, because the spot is so special.  It is with real enthusiasm that we present our review of Tasogare Coffee Stand in the Minamihorie district of Nishi-ku, not far from Namba station.

Tasogare Coffee exists somewhere between a caffeine fix and an a temple celebrating art, and wood, and burlap, and maybe coffee as well.

My sense is that Osaka’s Tasogare Coffee is what happens when you take a unique vision, and give it an endless budget. The vibe is coffee boutique, meets tropical lounge, with a strong high-btow Flinstones influnce (If there coyld be such a thing, and it appears that there is). I say this with genuine respect; they have created a signifiant work of art, an instalation, which ttanscends the coffee (which is also excellent, and even as it is high quality and artfully prepared, iy becomes almost an insignificant detail, in .

Wiat, wait, I want to go ago: It’s a world class yoga space, without the yoga. It’s Burning Man, without the dust. It’s in all the little details, ao many details, and art, in every direction.

The have taken a palatte of brown, and putty, and ochre, and rust, and rolled it out in every direction. Like a movie set. Like an amusement part, but much more organic. The coffee is relatively reasonably priced, but the space ia expensive. The vibe is very organic, and instantly comfortable, like a plant shop. But the vision has so many layers of details, you can feel an unlying obsession.

Big respect for this place. It works. And anyone trying to create aomething this grand, could go wrong, easily. But Tasogare shows up to the party in high-atyle, one of kind, certainly conspicuous, and ends up defining it’s own pace.

You could bring your friends here, ans blow their young minds. You coyld bring your parents, ans while they may not auite know what yo make of it, they coyld relax and enoy the expweienxe. You could being youe laptop, and write for a few hours – easily inspired. And based (bassed) on rhe high-end apund ans rhe Dj booth, it looka like rhey could throw an unfortgetable party here as well.
